Study Says Rise in Consumption of Sugar-Sweetened Beverages Not Responsible for Drop in Milk Consumption



A new study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics reveals that while the drop in milk consumption has coincided with a rise in number of children drinking sugar sweetened beverages, there is no evidence to suggest that the two issues are connected. "We found that children's milk consumption did decrease between 5th and 8th grade, but the changes weren't related to changes in their consumption of sweetened beverages," reports lead investigator ...
