With stunning costal walks, rich blue seas and long stretches of unspoilt beaches, Cornwall makes for one of the UK’s best getaways. Overlooking one of these gorgeous costal locations is the St Moritz hotel. Modern, spacious, but not lacking the easy-going Cornish vibe, you’ll find a blend of deliciously indulgent dining options and plenty of spaces to chill out. With wellies and fishing nets lining the door of the hotel, a newly refurbished outdoor pool, hammocks made for demolishing a good book, a gym and spa, you won’t get bored. St Moritz also offers guests a variety of rooms, suites, apartments and villas to rest weary legs after a day’s exploring.
THE SPA: After some serious ‘me’ time? Try the Cowshed spa. The spa itself mimics the laid-back atmosphere of the hotel, but doesn’t forgo the luxury. There’s a host of treatments for everyone, including ‘udderly gorgeous’ maternity and ‘Bullocks for men’ packages. We went all out and indulged in the St Moritz Sun & Sea Signature Treatment (120 minutes), comprising of a full body brush, deep exfoliation using sea salt and peppermint oil infusion, a detoxifying body wrap, express facial /and/ a full body massage. After the treatment, we made our way to the sauna, steam room and indoor pool to consolidate our afternoon of pampering.
THE FOOD: When in Cornwall, do as the Cornish do and make the most of the fish dishes on offer at the St Moritz restaurant. The seafood is so fresh that the menu isn’t published until 5pm when Head Chef, Jamie Porter, knows what the fisherman have brought in with their catch. We were lucky enough to sample scallop ceviche and a lobster risotto, but not before we’d witnessed the chefs at work in the open plan kitchen-restaurant. The hotel also has the sea side restaurant, a more casual, poolside dining option.
PRICE:Prices vary from month-to-month basis. Throughout August, prices start from £255 for a king room. Self-catering apartments (3-4 bedrooms) are available on a weekly basis. Visit www.stmoritzhotel.co.uk for more info.
