Genetic Pathway That Controls Plants' 'Breathing Pores' Discovered

A genetic pathway that controls the density of breathing pores in response to elevated CO2 levels in plants has been discovered by American researchers. Julian Schroeder, biology professor, said that for each carbon dioxide molecule that was incorporated into plants through photosynthesis, a plant loses about 200 hundred molecules of water through their stomata.
