The 59-year-old Dutchman was on his way to Melbourne for the 20th International AIDS Conference, which starts on Sunday. His partner Jacqueline van Tongeren and dozens of other conference delegates were also among the 298 people killed when the jet was downed over conflict-torn eastern Ukraine.
