British Woman Becomes First Person to Cycle to the South Pole

Welsh adventurer Maria Leijerstam, 35, became the first person to cycle to the South Pole after pedaling 500 miles across Antartica on Thursday. Leijerstam finished the race in just ten days - 12 days before scheduled finish.
