Over a Quarter of Medicare Recipients Spend More Than the Total Value of Their Assets on Health Care Costs

A new study conducted by researchers at Mount Sinai School of Medicine has found that the amount spent on out of pocket health care expenses by one in four Medicare recipients during the last five years of their lives is greater than the total value of their assess. They found that 43 percent of Medicare recipients spend more than their total assets minus the value of their primary residences.
