Higher Risk of Type 2 Diabetes for Obese Adults With Excess Belly Fat, Insulin Resistance

A study linked obese adults having excess visceral fat (fat located inside the abdominal cavity, around the body's internal organs) and biomarkers of insulin resistance to an increased risk for the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
