Landslides More Devastating to Human Life Than Any Other Natural Disaster

British researchers looking into global hazards have found that deaths caused by landslides were 10 times more than any other natural disaster. A new database of hazards collected by Durham University, UK shows that 32,300 people died in landslides between 2004 and 2010. Previous estimates ranged from 3,000 to 7,000 fatalities.
