Can Anti-HIV Medications Prevent HIV Infection in Heterosexuals?

A combination of two Anti-HIV medications may prevent infection in heterosexuals, according to a recent study published in the iNew England Journal of Medicine/i. The study was conducted in Botswana to evaluate if pretreatment with Anti-HIV medications tenofovir disoproxil fumarate and emtricitabine reduced the transmission of HIV in a heterosexual population.
