The question of calories consumed and expended is omnipresent in the press and social media pages on a daily basis. In particular, I was moved by an article in the New York Times this week reviewing a very important documentary called "Fed Up," executive produced by Katie Couric and Laurie David, who was also a producer of "The Inconvenient Truth." The film tells stories about children struggling with obesity. "But at the heart of the film is a question that is widely debated among scientists: Are all calories equal?"
