Over (Dollar) 8.65 Billion Incurred Per Year in the US Due to Absenteeism Among US Workers

A study at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health concludes that absenteeism in the workplace causes obesity that costs the U.S. (Dollar) 8.65 billion per year. This is more than 9% of all absenteeism costs. The consequences of obesity among the working population go beyond healthcare and create a financial challenge not only for the nation but for individual states as well.
