Recurrent Breast Cancers can be Spotted by Experimental Blood Test

A blood test that accurately detects the presence of advanced breast cancer and also holds promise for precisely monitoring response to cancer treatment has been designed by Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center investigators. The test, called the cMethDNA assay, accurately detected the presence of cancer DNA in the blood of patients with metastatic breast cancers up to 95 percent of the time in laboratory studies.
